4 Star Rating  September 22nd, 2016   Very Nice County Park
We have tent camped here a number of times and enjoy the park. Park is well-maintained and has lots of nice features. Nice hiking trails, a disc golf course, the Observatory, playground, and swimming beach (the lake can get pretty green, though) make it an enjoyable stay. There is a mix of electric and water sites for campers and RVs and a number of tent sites (some are pretty small). Only a few minutes away from Norwood Young America if you need to run to town for anything.
Baylor Co Park
3 Star Rating  September 7th, 2016   Good Site
Stayed in this campsite on Labor Day Weekend in 2016. Long parking spur accommodated our truck and boat with room to spare. Many others are very short. Best site for our tent was on the other side of the parking spur - no good spots near the fire pit and picnic table. Very windy all weekend so the bugs were not a problem, but might be on a calm day. Showers are in the other campground so they are not really close.

4 Star Rating  September 7th, 2016   Nice Park to Hike Around
Enjoyed the contrast of woods and prairie within the park. Lots of nicely mowed trails to see the various topography and plant life of the park. Campsites are fairly small, but ok. Would definitely return.

3 Star Rating  July 26th, 2016   Nice Rustic Secluded Park
Stayed at this park for the second time in late July, 2016. Campsites are nicely secluded from each other but several do not have level sites for larger tents. Nice mix of easy and challenging trails, but some of the river crossings are prone to flooding after rain. Minimal mosquitoes, but small black flies were abundant. Large playground area adjacent to campsites. No firewood was available at the time we stayed so we had to drive to Plainview about 4 miles away to buy it. Only saw the park ranger drive through one time in three days. If you want a quiet experience, this park can provide it.
Carley State Park
3 Star Rating  October 16th, 2015   Nice Site
Stayed in this site in mid-October to enjoy the fall colors. Tent pad is huge and accommodated our 10` x 16` tent with plenty of extra room around it. Sites are relatively close together so your neighbors are pretty close. Nice fire pit and reasonable sun/shade mix. Water is close to site and bathrooms are only a short distance away.
