Long ago, American Indians harvested wild rice from this lake, which attracts many waterfowl during migrations. Visitors enjoy photographing spring wildflowers, birdwatching, and picnicing. Camping options include drive-in, walk-in, cart-in, and canoe-in sites.
Nice small state park. Can easily bike all the roads in the park. Nice boat access. Can rent canoes for $10/4 hours. Just remember to bring your bug spray. Of all the parks we've been to, especially being life-long Minnesotans, we have never encountered so many mosquitos as we did while here. If you have a screened in tent or shelter, bring it as you will spend most of your time in there!
